It’s that time of year again;
time to spruce up the house for
spring. You’ve had all winter to make your list of everything that you want to fix or maybe
add. There’s only one problem, you’re not sure if you can afford all of the projects you hope to
have done. That’s where BMI Federal Credit Union comes in. We have great rates on our home
equity loans and closed end 2nd mortgages that can fit into anyone’s budget. Now you can
replace that leaky roof or install all new energy saving windows and appliances. Not looking
to fix anything? Maybe you are just looking to expand your living space. No matter the reason,
BMI Federal Credit Union is here for you. Call one of our loan officers to discuss your options
or stop in to one of our branches.
A few tips to get your spring cleaning started:
v
Clean those dirty windows—There’s nothing like snow and grime to really
get those windows dirty. Make sure to clean your screens first. Use good old
soap and water to get the screens clean with the help of a good bristle brush.
Use the hose to rinse and start tackling all those windows.
v
Time to get those leaves out of the gutter—Get that trusty ladder out, put on
those work gloves, and get to work. Make sure to get the hose out so you can
blast down the spouts to clear any clogs that may be in there from the Fall or to
check for any leaks.
v
Clean out and organize your garage—More often than not the house’s garage
becomes a catch-all of unwanted items you don’t know what to do with or just
don’t have room for inside the house. Before you get started, set up different
sections in your driveway to separate items into. You can create a keep, donate,
trash, & yard sale section. Go through everything and once you are done,
organize the items you are keeping so you know where to find them next time.
A good rule of thumb for most items, if you haven’t used it in a year or two,
let it go.
