In accordance with the BMI Federal Credit Union bylaws,
each year a Nominating Committee recommends a
slate of candidates to fill all Board of Director openings.
The Committee interviews qualified candidates and
all selected nominees must be willing to unselfishly
volunteer their time and talent. BMI Federal Credit
Union Directors meet an average of two times per
month, without pay, for Board and Committee meetings.
This year, there are four open positions, and each will
serve a 3-year term.
Gwen Von Holten
: An employee at
Battelle for the last 30 years, Gwen
currently holds the title of Vice
President and Corporate Controller.
She has been a member of BMI FCU for
30 years also. She has served on BMI
FCU Board in many capacities: Chair,
Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and
also served on the Supervisory Committee. Gwen is a
licensed CPA and holds a BSBA in Accounting from The
Ohio State University.
James Ramey
: Recently retired after a
46 year career as the Director, Ohio
Field Office, at the U.S. Department
of Agriculture, National Agricultural
Statistics Service, Mr. Ramey has
recently become a BMI FCU Director.
Previously James served as a BMI FCU
Associate Director. James served 13
years on the Board of Columbus Federal Employees
Credit Union, serving as Board Chair and Secretary,
and also serving on the Credit Committee. James
earned a BS, Farm and Ranch Management and an MS,
Agricultural Economics from the University of Arizona.
George Dailey
: George is Plan
Administrator for the Schottenstein
Stores Corporation. He has been a
member of BMI Federal Credit Union
for over 33 years and has served
on the Supervisory Committee and
Board of Directors since 1984. George
is a licensed CPA and holds a BS in
Accounting, a BA in Economics from West Virginia State
College and an MBA from Marshall University.
Ben Freudenreich
: Ben has been
employed at Battelle for over 50 years
and is currently working on special
assignment. Ben has also been a
member of the Credit Union for as
many years. He has served on the
Credit Committee (1981-1987) and
Board of Directors since 1987, including
as Board Chair from 1995-1998. Ben holds a BS in
Physics from the Carnegie Institute of Technology.
Nominations for the Board of Directors may also be made by petition.
The petition containing the signatures and account numbers of a
minimum of 1% of the total membership must be submitted to the
BMI FCU Board Secretary by
March 23, 2012
. Written statements of
qualifications, biographical information, and statement of willingness
to serve if elected must accompany the nominee’s petition. If there
is one nominee for each position to be filled and no nominations
by petition are received, the Committee’s nominee will be declared
elected, no mail ballot will be mailed to all primary members.
Completed ballots are sent to independent election tellers who
announce the election results at BMI FCU’s Annual Business Meeting
on
